"One Team, Two Robots"

What is Beastbots?

Beastbots (FRC Team 4861) is our sister team, officially created in 2024 and intended to give our new members a low-stakes environment to gain hands-on robot skills.  Every member in our organization is automatically a member of Eastbots (FRC Team (4795).  However, new members have the opportunity to work on Beastbots in their first and second years in order to practice their skills in a low-stakes environment.

What do they do?

Since Beastbots is intended to be a low-stakes learning environment, new members consider several different robot designs that come out at the beginning of the season. These include the REV Starter bot, the FRC Kitbot, the Robonauts Everybot (chosen this past year), and others.  The robot is then slightly modified, with members making upgrades such as adding swerve, and then build according to CAD and instructions.  At competition, Beastbots competes as a separate team under the team number 4861.  Beastbots will not go to the FNC District Championship or the FRC World Championship even if they qualify; all members will compete under the Eastbots team at those events.

How did they start?

In order to accommodate a larger team and provide a space for new members to grow, we started our sister team, the Beastbots. Beastbots’ story began when we competed as team 9975 at Rumble in the Roads in 2023’s offseason. In March of 2024, Beastbots officially registered as team 4861. Beastbots kicked off its inaugural season by building a KitBot and competing at the Orange County and UNC Asheville district events, making it into the playoffs of both. Beastbots also competed in the 2024 offseason by returning to Rumble in the Roads.
